Well, by my writting this, you know that we have made it through the first leg of our journey! We had a great first day! Our day started on the road at 6:00am... Bright and early! Okay well maybe just early, not so bright. We drove, and drove, and drove somemore. Mom let me drive for a couple of hours before lunch time!! That was exciting. I think I did a very good job. haha! Of course we are on a road that has pretty close to no cars, and is also pretty much out in the middle of no where... Get gas and use the restroom every chance you get, because you never know where your next stop will be :)
So after driving and driving and driving some more we finally stopped for lunch around 11:00pm. We found a little park called "Fair Park" in Childress Texas... again, a very small town with not very much to it. I thought the park was a little creepy, but it had a picnic table in the shade which was perfect! It was beautiful sitting in the shade with the wind blowing.
Then mom and I drove around the park a little and found a very cute bridge, and so of course I posed for some memorable pictures. haha!
So then after the nice break it was time to get back on the road again. While mom drove this time, I watched Beauty And The Beast while mom listened to it. It was a fun time singing along with the classic songs while cruising down a never-ending road. A road trip tradition for mom and I, is to always get Starbucks!!! So here is our first (of what will be many) Starbucks stop! It was a nice break to get out of the car for a little bit, get coffee, and see we were only an hour and a half away from our hotel!!!
FINALLY!!! After a fun, but long drive, we arrived at our hotel shortly after 3:00pm. After settling in, and having a lovely time figuring out how to connect to the internet, we went and had Pizza Hut!! It was a strange experience (we'll just leave it at that) but the food was yummy and satisfied our hunger. Then we went back to the hotel. Mom got us a room with a Jacuzzi in it, so guess what we did! First we tried the hot tub that the Hotel has but it just wasn't very hot and bubbly so we relaxed in our "hot tub", and it was NICE!!! Very soothing!
We will be going to bed soon. Another full day of about 7 hours of driving, but then we will be at the camp for the real part of the trip to begin! Thank you all for your prayers!! We praise the Lord for our health and our safety today. I thank the Lord for this nice warm weather. As we continue to get further north it will just keep getting cooler, hallelujah! haha! Please continue to pray for us tomorrow as we travel but also for the other members in our group who will be driving and flying in tomorrow and friday. Many Blessings!
Sounds like a full day for sure, will be missing you girls for sure.
