Love Loud 2012

Love Loud is a “Mission Trip” to our community. We seek to discover and minister to needs within the city of Cedar Hill and surrounding areas so that others may see, hear, and come to know the love and hope that we have in Christ.

The 2012 edition of Love Loud impacted the neighborhood of Highlands South today with our largest ever Health Fair and Fall Festival. In addition to the health related events, we provided automobile maintenance, children’s and family ministry outreach, home repairs for the elderly and families in need, and much more.

Mom and I, this morning, were apart of a service to Moms of Special Needs Children. We, along with a group of ladies from our church, provided these women with free massages, facials, card making, and mom and I did manicures. It was such a blessing to pamper these sweet ladies. Although we didn't know them, we were able to carry on conversations with these women and most of the time just listen to encourage.  We only had three or four ladies come but we were able to be more personal with them and give each of them their own special attention, which was awesome!

At about noon we were finished and so we packed up and went to the Highlands to check out what all was going on there. It was quite amazing to see all the people and kids that came out! A bunch of the youth from our church came to do face painting... and the children loved that!

They also had a bounce house and some other activites for the children to do. They served hot dogs for lunch, which dad helped cook early this morning.

They offered automobile maitenence and a variety of things at the Health Fair. We had waterbottles with the church information on it that we handed out to the people.

It was just an amazing day! It's a totally different experience going out of the church walls. Instead of taking the people to the church, we took the church to the people in an awesome way. We were able to serve our community and love on them with the love of Christ! Nothing is better....

"Motion Of Mercy"by Francesca Battistelli
I was poor I was weak
I was the definition of the spiritually
Bankrupt condition
So in need of help

I was unsatisfied
Hungry and thirsty
When You rushed to my side
So unworthy
Still You gave yourself away…

That’s the motion of mercy
Changing the way and the why we are
That’s the motion of mercy
Moving my heart

Now I’m filled by a love
That calls me to action
I was empty before now I’m drawn to compassion
And to give myself away

That’s the motion of mercy
Changing the way and the why we are
That’s the motion of mercy
Moving my heart

Living for the lost
Loving ‘til it hurts
No matter what the cost
Like You loved me first
That’s the motion of mercy

God give me strength to give something for nothing
I wanna be a glimpse of the Kingdom that’s coming soon

That’s the motion of mercy
Changing the way and the why we are
That’s the motion of mercy
Moving my heart

After Obedience... What?
"And straightway He constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side..." -Mark 6:45

"We are apt to imagine that if Jesus Christ constrains us, and we obey Him, He will lead us to great success. We must never put our dreams of success as God's purpose for us; His purpose may be exactly the opposite. We have an idea that God is leading us to a particular end, a desired goal; He is not. The question of gettting to a particular end is a mere incident. What we call the process, God calls the end.

What is my dream of God's purpose? His purpose is that I depend on Him and on His power now. If I can stay in the middle of the turmoil calm and unperplexed, that is the end of the purpose of God. God is not working toward a particular finish; His end is the process-- that I see Him walking on the waves, no shore in sight, no success, no goal, just the absolute certainty that it is all right because I see Him walking on the sea. It is the process, not the end, which is glorifying to God.

God's training is for now, not presently. His purpose is for this minute, not for something in the future. We have nothing to do with the afterwards of obedience; we get wrong when we think of the afterward. What men call training and preperation, God calls the end.

God's end is to enable me to see that He can walk on the chaos of my life just now. If we have a further end in view, we do not pay sufficient attention to the immediate present: if we realize that obedience is the end, then each moment as it comes is precious."

Wyoming... Day 11

This morning we began out journey home... We left the beautiful weather and camp in Wyoming around 7:45am. After searching, mom and I found a Starbucks!! (which was a great start to our morning)...

The drive flew past so fast! Before we knew it, we were in Colorado Springs! The first thing we did was we had lunch at The Airplane Restaurant. It was so cool!! We literally had lunch IN an airplane!! It was awesome, and the food was great as well. They had some really cool stuff that made it feel like an old fashion airplane. The menu was actually a newspaper!! And the airplane we ate in was HUGE!!!!

Then we drove a few miles and went to The Olympic Training Center!! That was awesome!!!! We got see where Michael Phelps trained just 6 weeks ago... and we saw where Apollo Ohno lived on the Complex for 8 years. We saw the different training centers for the gymnastics, wrestling, swimming, and learned some other interesting facts about that training center. Lots of fun there!!

Then we went to Patsy's Candies Shop! There were so many different kinds of chocolates and candies!!! It was hard for me to pick just a few to try... I'd eat them all, haha! That was a sweet stop :)

Mom and I both got three pieces of Chocolate, and we got a little cup of Blue Bunny Ice Cream!! And it was so good!!!! :) Then we drove a few miles to our Bed and Breakfast... It is a 1920s house. It feels a little weird (like you're sleeping in a stranger's home) but at the same time it is so cute! Everything is just so fancy and very victorian. It really is a cute house!!
