Sunday In Wyoming... Day 5

Today our group split up and went to 5 different churches... Me, mom, and Mark Clark went to Snowy Range! Wes White is the Pastor there, him and his family stayed at our house when they came to our church for Love Loud. Since then, I have kept in touch with Shelby (their middle child)... so this was a great visit!! Their church was so sweet! It felt like a little family :) Being able to call everyone in the congregation by name and take their prayer requests to heart is such a special blessing of being apart of a small church. After the church service, we went out to each with them! That was such a fun time!! We had to cut the lunch off at 3:00 to get back to camp. It was a great day! Here are what the other churches were like:

Happy Jack Baptist Church
Harry and Judy Reitz, Michael and Shannon Reitz
We attended Happy Jack Church service today and we were very blessed. Pastor Guy spoke from the book of Jonah titled "How To Run From God". They are very excited about a new mission opportunity. They received a donation to complete the fencing around the arena that is located on their property. We want to thank this church for helping with this mission opportunity at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Hispanic Serivce at Sunnyside Baptist Church
Jaime Salazar, Diane Bammel, and Linda Pool
The congregation of 20-30 people was very sweet. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Pastor Ernesto and wife Donna were gracious. Jaime gave his testimony and then preached on Romans 12:1-2. We sang lots of songs in Spanish that were familiar hymns. Everyone (even the children) had coffee and cookies after worship as is their custom every week for fellowship. Afterwards we stayed for Sunday School and studied scriptures related to the Last Supper. Children were taught by pastor's wife and other leaders. It was obvious that they are being taught God's Word and are being loved on. You could tell that each member felt close to their pastor. It felt very much like family. Eight of us ate a Mexican lunch at Guadalajava and left full. Donna showed us sign language for a full stomach. Conversation flowed easily as everone seemed eager to know us. It was blessing to worship with this Hispanic group.

Trinity Baptist Church
Bill and Cathy Foshea, Kathy Evans, Mike Prather
We visited Trinity's worship service this morning. Trinity is a sweet fellowship of about 40 members. Pastor David Grace led the congregational hymn time and preached an inspiring sermon. We were warmly received and met several members. We prayed with Barema, a lovely young lady, who is due to deliever her first baby next week. The church had just begun the process of developing plans for a remodel and expansion of their facilities.

Life Point Baptist Church
Chad and Lauren Andersen, Justin Smith, Jack and Dolores Goolsby
Several team members joined Life Point Church, a church plant led by Zach Edwards that was birthed less than ten months ago in Cheyenne. The church's normal meeting area was unavailable due to Frontier Days, so the Body met in the backyard of a family's home. After a few songs and a short message from Mark 9, the congregation of about 35 gathered around a father and his daughter proclaiming their faith through baptism. Following the baptism, we joined in the song Amazing Grace before sharing lunch together.

  1. Great to see others worshiping God in the same way, whether it's in Texas, Wyoming or even other parts of the world like Russia and Romania, Praise God!!
